Zusammenfassung:The article presents two conflicting interpretations of the UN Charter regarding the military humanitarian intervention. According to one interpretation, supported by the officials of Russian Federation and China, the Charter forbids such an intervention; according to the other one, endorsed, among others, by Kofi Annan, the Charter allows it. It is also underlined the effect of these interpretations on the Security Council during the 1999 war between NATO and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
