Zusammenfassung:During 2005–2006 20 species of fungi in total were identified from plants of the Salix L. genus growing in Vilnius city. Seven fungal species were identified from twigs of S. caprea, S. viminalis in vitro. Canker diseases caused by Phomopsis salicina were identified for the first time. Salix viminalis ‘Americana’ (green-barked) plants, growing in genefund collections in the Experimental Station of the Institute of Botany were in solitary instances affected by Melampsora ribesii-viminalis. Saprotrophic micromycetes: Alternaria alternata, Cladosporium cladosporioides, Fumago (Apiosporium) were found on leaves of solitary S. viminalis (yellow-barked). Venturia salicipereda, Phomopsis salicina, Uncinula adunca, Flammulina velutipes, Melampsora ribesii-viminalis, Septoria salicina are most destructive fungi that could infect Salix plants growing in plantations
