From the very beginning of the Internet's development the Church has tried to use the new medium for the transmission of faith and evangelization. This technology allows you to build relationships between users. It enables both an exchange of thoughts and to deepen faith. The Internet is becoming a positive tool in the mission of proclaiming the Gospel. However, using it in a wrong way may be the basis for an isolation from the community of the faithful that creates the Church in the real world.The message of Pope Francis on the 53rd World Communications Day is an attempt to reflect on the problem of building social networks on the Internet. The article is therefore an attempt to present the opportunities and threats resulting from the use of this medium by the faithful in the context of the papal message from 24 January 2019. The result of reflections on the message will be to provide indications for priests to make better use of the Internet in the mission of evangelization.
