Zusammenfassung:In the modern world and in the modern perceived system of continuing education, the adult education occupies a special place. It covers various stages in a person's life, not only the production period and the period of stabilization, but also the pre-retirement or retirement period. Each of these periods is characterized by different needs as well as educational, social and caring problems.Purpose. Search of optimal ways for personal and professional life-long self-perfection of a person in accordance with theoretical and methodological principles of the pedagogics.Methods. The work uses a method of critical analysis of the results of practical experience as well as the structural and functional analysis, the systematization, and generalization methods.Conclusion. The developmental potential conducive to learning was considered to be inexhaustible, constituting a sufficient base for activating the processes of learning of a person for the rest of his or her life. The educational possibilities exist throughout entire life and they are diverse as well as multi-conditioned by the whole way of life of an adult person. According to Elżbieta Dubas, the human life - development - learning constitute a kind of ontological and anthropological triad defining humanity. The learning is important for being a human and for becoming a human. The high value of knowledge, defining the social position of a person, forces to permanent learning, allowing to renew, to expand and to improve knowledge ass well as to forget this unhelpful, and to acquire this needed knowledge in order to be able to live efficiently and satisfactively in an ever-changing world.
