Zusammenfassung:Considered by the critics of his time to be “a poet of flowers”, Dimitrie Anghel did not allow his poetic work to be permeated by any of the inner turmoil which gradually worsened his manic-depressive illness. Devoured by various physical and psychic complexes, which were favoured by a problematic heredity, augmented by varied sentimental crises, and by twinges of conscience and public condemnation, he finally decided that the only way out for him was to commit suicide.
