Zusammenfassung:On 11 October 2010, in his seventy-seventh year, the heart of Professor Mirkasym Abdulakhatovich Usmanov, outstanding personality of Oriental historical studies in Kazan, ceased to beat. He was an outstanding scholar and decisive figure in the scholarly life of Tatarstan and Russia, and a great friend of Hungarian Turcologists and historians. It is our solemn duty to commemorate this unique personality and scholar.
