Zusammenfassung:The article discusses the methods of narrative analysis that can be applied to dramatic texts. Although certain aspects of narrative theory have been incorporated in dramatic theory (Pfister), they are neither complete nor clearly defined; particularly in the description of the narrative category of tense. In the author's opinion the understanding of at least two elements of the dramatic text could be improved by applying the methods of narrative analysis. The first concerns the so-called epic structures of drama, the second the entire role and function of diegesis in the dramatic text. From the narratological perspective it is of particular interest to establish the status of the mimetic stratum of the verbal components of the text. Thereafter, the analysis of narrative should be applied to the scenic dimension of the text, to view it as a complex communicative act.
