Zusammenfassung: | Between August the 22nd, 1950–December 23rd, 1960, a Romanian city bore the name ‘Stalin City’. Among the other 6 East and Central European cities which had this name during ‘1950s, the former Brasov was also integrated, both in general and peculiar ways. This study focuses on mass-media perspectives, trying to identify, reveal and emphasis the mechanism of naming this city. The communist propaganda claimed the popular background for these actions, but documents figure a different reality. |
