This paper concerns the rising donors of development aid. These states play anincreasingly significant role in international development aid, with the PRC being undoubtedly one of the most important among them. The purpose of this paper is toanalyse development aid, in particular its role in state policy and its consequences for international development cooperation. The paper describes the most importantterminological aspects, roots, evolution and the current objectives of the Chineseaid program, its importance for foreign and economic policy and its influence onother participants in development cooperation.
