Zusammenfassung:The objective of this paper is to emphasize the role of discrimination in the downturn of the labor-market outcomes gender gap, the consequences of harmonization schemes on women’s employment, and the adverse ramifications of welfare states for women’s occupational achievements. The theory that I shall seek to elaborate here puts considerable emphasis on the modifications in the labor market outcomes of women relative to men and the impact of welfare states on women’s labor market achievements. The results of the current study converge with prior research on the influence of welfare state schemes on gender earnings disparity, the impact of harmonization schemes on female labor force involvement, and the pay difference contingent upon gender features. pp. 135–141JEL codes: J16; J42
