Interdisciplinárne dimenzie slovenskej onomastiky v kontexte slavistických výskumov

In his paper the author points out the significance of interdisciplinary research and co-operation among different scientific branches when creating a complex image of scientific rsearch. Like slavistics, onomastics co-operates with various scientific disciplines. There search on Slovak hydronyms, i.e. terrain names, demonstrates the history of settlements and the influence of various ethnic groups on current toponymy. The onomastic research on persons´ nicknames finds the common points with ethnology, dialectology, and folkloristics. The research results of the aforementioned sciences are part of broad pan-Slavonic research and they have become a solid part od Slovak slavistics, too.
