Nahe Synonyme als „schwere Wörter

The study summarises a detailed analysis of two near synonyms by means of corpus analytical methods developed at the Institute of German Language in Mannheim. The adjectives ernstlich and ernsthaft are presented in their collocational behavior explored with FReD (Frequency Relevance Decay) strategy which models the time-dependent relevance of language events from a synchronic perspective.
