Nowy prototyp genologii

This is a critical survey of how cognitive studies are applied in modern literary and, to a lesser extent, linguistic genre theories. The so-called theory of prototypes and the theory of family resemblances (derived from Wittgenstein) come under close scrutiny. This article discusses the potential of these theories, their explanatory limitations in the area of genre theory, and their revolutionary nature.
