Profesinės sąveikos vaistininkas– gydytojas ypatumai: situacijos analizė ir pacientų lūkesčiai

The role of pharmacist has changed from that of a drug seller to a health care team member. For this reason, the necessity of collaboration between the physician and the pharmacist becomes more relevant. The goal of this collaboration is a safe pharmacotherapy for patients, so it is important to analyze the expectations of Lithuanian patients as regards this professional collaboration. The aim of the research was to analyze the needs of patients concerning the physician–pharmacist working relationship in primary care. A focus group interview of leaders of Lithuanian patient organizations was performed, and their opinion about expectations of Lithuanian patients have been analyzed by the content analysis method. Leaders of Lithuanian patient organizations felt that a closer collaboration oriented towards the evaluation of a patient’s situation and a more effective solution of the problem would better meet Lithuanian patients’ aspirations. The analysis of expectations showed that an optimal treatment at the lowest cost is prioritized.
