Language as an Instrument in Democratisation of Society

The way of using language is connected with the position of speakers. Language even helps to maintain social hierarchy of the sexes in society. Gender linguistics revealed discriminizing mechanisms in vocabulary, way of talking and even the grammar systems of languages. In Czech Republic gender linguistics is being considered as an imported issue. Many bohemists consider gender aspect as ideology, not as a science. It is needed to change this attitude and make gender analysis of Czech language in both sufficient quality and quantity.
