Zusammenfassung: | The article is an analytical research on the sonhood and priesthood of Jesus Christ. The Ps 2 reveals the Old Testament messianic prophecy. Jesus fulfilled the promises announced particularly by the Psalms. The quotation “You are my son, today I have begotten you” (Ps 2,7) was taken by the New Testament Letter to the Hebrews as ‘relecture’ on Jesus Christ, the Son of God (Heb 1,5). Jesus is the Son of God in his preexistence, incarnation, baptism, transfiguration, and paschal mystery – passion, death and resurrection and glorification. By his Sonhood, Jesus identifies himself before God, the Father. However, Jesus exercises a function for human race as High priest (Ps 110; Heb 5,5). This biblical exposition offers a contextual christological-soteriological reflection on Jesus’ essence (Son) and existence for the others (High priest). |
