Antysyjonizm Bundu w latach 1947-1972

After the establishment of the state of Israel, Bund did not revise its critical view of Zionism. Together with the Communist Party of Israel and Matzpen organisation, it fought against Zionism also in Israel itself. Bund was trying the challenge Israel’s domination over the diaspora, the discrimination of Arabs in Israel and the refusal to grant the Palestinians the right to self-determination. However, by contracts to the communists, it was not able to proclaim its ideas in the Israeli parliament. The Bund of Israel remained a minor organisation, that only scored some success in the area of promotion of the Yiddish language culture. The most important ideological change in the period in question was the strengthening of the right-wing and social democrat current in the party. As regards Bund’s approach to the question of Israel/Palestine, the most significant change consisted in the shift of the concept of solving the ethnic conflict from the proposal for a bi-national federated state toward the concept of a federation of two nation states.
