Problema demografică în regiunea Branului de Sus

The present study deals with a new approach of documents, regarding the question of the moment of populating Bran region. Contrary to the actual interpretations, we proposed a new key of understanding documents, and a re-evaluation of known data. Our conclusions assert that Bran region was populated in the end of 17th century, until then large forests covering this area. Actions of clearing from 16th–17th century conduct to a new territory, available for new settlements. This availability would had been promptly used by habitants from different villages în Transylvania, and even from Wallachia.
