Zusammenfassung:Because of its ideological roots, the Catholic University of Lublin immediately found itself on a diff erent side from the communists who had ruled Poland since the end of the Second World War. By defi nition, the university’s staff did not participate in the process of building the „new man”, rejecting the Marxist paradigm of research. This does not mean, however, that they all remained „outside” the reality of the time. The state authorities, mainly through the action of the apparatus of violence, tried to control the Catholic „anti-university”. On the other hand, some of its representatives allowed themselves to be entangled in agent collaboration. This article is about these issues.
