Parafia miejska przy kościele pw. Świętych Piotra i Pawła w Sandomierzu

This article presents the history of the city parish and the church of Saints Peter and Paul in Sandomierz. This is the first attempt to show the entire life of the parish fromthe Middle Ages until it lost its status in 1717, as well as the fate of the church itself, which was finally demolished at the beginning of the 19th century. The source basis for this article is primarily the archives of the Sandomierz Collegiate and Cathedral Chapter, stored in the Sandomierz Diocesan Library, which were supplemented with materials from the Archives of the Metropolitan Curia in Cracow and the State Ar- chives in Kielce, Sandomierz Branch. The text is divided into nine sections, which discuss the oldest references to the parish and church, the history of the Jesuit college and the activities of Father Stefan Zhuchowski. The article is the last text of the late Rev. Prof. Feliks Kiryk and crowns his rich scholarly output in medieval and modern history.
