In the paper, the author writes about two notable figures from a priestly family in Grahovo, Ilija and Milos Bilbija. The emphasis is on their biographies. Ilija Bilbija was a priest, the restorer of the Rmanj Monastery and a prominent chieftain from the time of the Serbian Uprising 1875-1878, and as a priest in Bosansko Grahovo, he baptized Gavrilo Princip in 1894. Milos Bilbija, a cousin of the priest Ilija, was an assistant parish priest in Bosansko Grahovo, and later a parish priest in Crni Lug. After the Sarajevo Assassination in 1914, the Austro-Hungarian authorities demanded from Milos Bilbija to change the date of Gavrilo Princip’s baptism, but he did not agree to it and was tortured in a prison in Livno. He died as a result of torture. The Council of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church canonized Milos Bilbija in 2022. Ilija and Milos Bilbija, with their priestly work and fight for the rights and liberation of the Serbian people, go beyond the local significance, so it is necessary to dedicate far more space to them when researching the past of the Serbian people of Bosnian Krajina, but also their undoubted influence on political conditions of the time in which they lived and worked.
