Due to the nature of the register examined, the religious community of Senndorf was in the foreground, but the political community also has its say. As in any rural settlement of the period, the social core of the group was dominated by males selected from the even narrower circle of the local elite. These men alternately occupied leadership positions in the secular or ecclesiastical spheres. In a way that was hardly expected, this source shows how urban organizational and administrative principles were also applied in the rural “hinterland” - an aspect that has not yet been sufficiently examined by historical research
