József Tornai has been fighting with problems of metaphysics since the beginning of his career as a poet. In this phylosophical essay he traces down the global process how the humanity was losing the illusions of its self-image in the course of centuries, which led to a deep doubt in the cognizability of the world by the end of the 20th century. Each kind of knowledge can be conveyed in a certain kind of language only - for example in the language of mythology, religion or science - and these languages cannot be translated into each-other.
