SCENARIU DE REGENERARE URBANĂ – EVIDENȚIEREA OPORTUNITĂȚII UNUI TRASEU PIETONAL URBAN

The city – contemporary metropolis – is seen as an organism in a perpetual motion, evolution, mutation, transformation. Bucharest, with its present urban context, opens multiple opportunities towards urban regeneration of the central and historical central area. Through complex specific operations, urban regeneration highlights the potential of the studied area from historic, architectural, cultural, social, but also functional point of view, through a contemporary reconsideration of the built heritage. The route-path which is the subject of the present research is situated in the central area, having conditionings regarding the protection of historical and urban architectural values, starts from Calea Victoriei, following the direction of Ion Câmpineanu Street, limited by Regina Elisabeta Boulevard and Constantin Mille Street. The urban space requires a lucid overview, as it is necessary to reconcile its spirit – characterized by the apparently chaotic juxtaposition, often contradictory, of volumes, functions and diverse textures – with the necessity to organize it coherently from configurative-spatial and functional point of view. The proposed objective is the development of a urban regeneration coherent scenario, in order to restore this area to the inhabitants and to its visitors, mainly focusing on pedestrian movement. The presented projects, belonging to the 4th year of study architecture students (the studio 42B tutored by the team: Prof. PhD Arch. Mihail Cocheci, Assist. Prof. PhD. Arch. Magdalena Stănculescu, Teach. Assist. PhD. Arch. Mourga Panteli) prevents the practical requirements of private, governmental or mixed future investments. The present article aims to present innovative ideas, aspects which reflect both challenge imposed by the development of a research project and latest international practice references, from the concept stage to the final phases of insertion of the architectural object in the immediate vicinity context and detailed development design of a urban public space.
