Hidropolitika na Nilu: između konflikta i "Renesanse"

In this paper, we discuss the political tensions that arose in the Nile Basin due to the construction of the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). We use the concept of hydro-hegemony, authored by Zeitoun and Werner as a theoretical framework. In this paper, we try to clarify the historical context and the quagmire of legal documents that regulate the flow of the Nile River. The aim of this paper is to present the positions of the three most important riparian countries (Ethiopia, Egypt, and Sudan). We analyse their motives, goals, arguments, and dangers that may arise for these countries in the event of an unfavorable solution for them. We then seek to identify possible compromises that could lead to a favorable solution for all three stakeholders.
