Zusammenfassung:This research was conducted to determine the secondary school students’ attitudes towards the art course, their opinions related to the art and their ways of reflecting art. In creating the purpose of the research, the research was planned with the thought to determine whether the secondary school students’ opinions related to the art reflect their products or not and their opinions for the visual arts course. The study group consisted of 39 (22 male/ 17 female) 8th grade in a medium-scale secondary school located in the Eastern Anatolia Region. The students were selected with criterion sampling. The design of the research was determined as the convergent parallel design among the mixed-method research designs. Qualitative and quantitative analysis was applied in the analysis of the data. As the data collection tool in the study, the “Visual Arts Course Attitude Scale”, “Picture Evaluation Form (rubric)” and “Semi-structured Interview Form” were used. In the analysis of the quantitative data, the SPSS 2.00 program was applied, the descriptive analysis was used for the qualitative data. As the secondary school students’ attitudes towards the visual arts course and the scores of their art reflection ways were analysed, it was found that although their scores from the Visual Arts Course Attitude Scales were at a good level, their drawing scores were at a medium level. As these two score types were compared, it was observed that there was no significant relationship between them. No significant difference was found between the attitude levels related to the visual arts and score averages from their drawing scores according to the secondary school students’ gender. As the students’ opinions related to the art and visual arts course were considered, they referred to their feelings with words such as emotion transfer, productivity, visual expression and creativity, and they expressed their feelings more easily through art and described themselves freely. At the end of the study, it was noticed that the secondary school students' awareness of art increased and their skills to produce original works emerged with their products.
