Mycobacterium bovis as the causal agent of human tuberculosis: public health implications

This chapter discusses the global public health implications posed by as a source of human tuberculosis; the implications of the well-known characteristics of that must be considered when attempting to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of human TB, presents data that have become available in the past three years and provides information regarding recent activities implemented at a global scale supporting the design and implementation of strategies aiming to address the major challenges remaining related to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of human TB.
