Zusammenfassung:This chapter examines how the UK Supreme Court and its predecessor (the Appellate Committee of the House of Lords) have responded to appeals from the Court of Appeal in Northern Ireland. It incorporates analyses of ‘leave/permission to appeal’ decisions and of substantive judgments in cases for which leave/permission was granted either by the Court of Appeal itself (a rare occurrence) or by a three-person panel of the Lords or the Supreme Court (which is the norm). The authors comment on the success rate of these appeals and on their subject matter.
