Zusammenfassung: | After a survey of the career of Flemish humanist Victor Ghyselinck (1539-1591), friend of Janus Dousa and Justus Lipsius, N. Istasse proposes his translated edition of some of his various unpublished poems. The forty-four hendecasyllabic verses of his De usu epithetorum are to be found at the end of the Plantin edition (1564) of the Epithetorum epitome of Ravisius Textor. The second piece is consists of eight elegiac distichs poem addressed to his friend, the Flemish philologist Theodoor Poelman (Pulmannus). Finally, the author underscores four epigrams taken from the manuscript collection Manes Catulli and dedicated to famous contemporaries such as Justus Lipsius or Abraham Ortelius. |
