Zusammenfassung: | A microphone array devoted to multimedia workstations is presented. This array, which was designed according to basic beam-forming principles, is made of subarrays, each characterized by a specific intersensor spacing. It is shown that accurate control of the directivity can be achieved over a given range of frequencies by combining these subarrays in a proper way. The measurement of its acoustic behavior and its use in real multimedia applications have shown that in spite of its low cost, this array yields a great improvement in speech quality when compared to a single microphone. |
