Zusammenfassung: | A type of A/D conversion, which is being used more and more in digital audio applications, is a sigma-delta modulator followed by a digital decimation filter. It will be shown that careful analysis of the small-signal behavior reveals audible distortion components that are not identified with simple analysis. In addition it will be discussed how this distortion can be reduced to acceptable levels, i.e. by using higher-order modulators in combination with dither. |
