The new magnetic technology, while initially less than perfect, was a decided improvement over direct recording-to-disk records. Improvements to the electronic and mechanical systems as well as the magnetic recording medium through magnetic recording to a high state of the recording art. These advances have contributed directly to improved, recorded artistic presentations. In the digital age, magnetic recording remains our most important recording medium. |
