Zusammenfassung: | Sound intensity measurements are quite useful as an acoustic measurement technique since in a reverberant environment, even with background noise, the free field as well as the diffuse sound field can be determined. A commonly used intensity probe consists of two closely spaced identical microphones. Especially the phase characteristics of the two microphones should be the same. A much simpler intensity probe is presented, consisting of a microphone and a particle-velocity sensor: the Microflown. Critical experiments show that the performance of this intensity probe is as good as that of the intensity probe using two identical microphones. There are a number of advantages to the new probe: no accurate matching of the sensors is necessary; the same configuration can be used for different frequency ranges, and the dimensions of the probe can be smaller. |
