Zusammenfassung: | In the last decade, the technique of finding Ly-alpha emitters through
narrow-band imaging has become a promising method of detecting high redshift
galaxies. Ly-alpha emitters have been found from redshifts z ~ 2, up to the
highest redshift source known to date at z = 6.96. Several surveys are also
underway to find z = 7 - 9 sources. But these very high redshift sources are
too faint to be studied in great detail, and more information can be found from
studying the same class of objects at lower redshifts. Here we present our
survey strategy to determine the nature of Ly-alpha emitters at lower
redshifts, through multi-wavelength surveys, and our plans to extend the survey
to redshift z = 8.8. |
