THE WHITE MAN IN THE ARCTIC

Observations are reported on some of the psychological stresses of life in the Arctic, and reactions to them. The importance of distinguishing between situations involving direct exposure to climatic stress, and those in which such exposure is avoided, is pointed out. Some of the difficulties involved in the field work are described and suggestions are made as to the lines along which further study should proceed.
