Zusammenfassung: | We propose timing and broadband follow-up observations of an intermittent pulsar candidate that has emerged from our ongoing processing of the SMART survey data. Initial analysis suggests the possibility of it being either an extreme nuller, or possibly an intermittent (state-switching) pulsar, of which only a handful are currently known. These rare type of pulsars continue to pose challenges in our quest to uncover the elusive emission mechanism. The proposed observations will help further elucidate the intermittent nature and its frequency dependence, and will allow us to determine the pulsar's spin and astrometric parameters via regular timing observations. We will also undertake polarimetric analysis to further explore the emission properties, and to determine the pulsar's emission geometry. | Provider's Access Rights: Accessible for free |
