Zusammenfassung: | The current study aims to examine the representations of women in Jordon Peterson's bestseller self-help book "12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos". Through a qualitative analysis of 12 extracts, the current study provides a critical discourse analysis via employing sociosemantic categories through which women are referred to in the data. To that end, the study utilizes Van Leween's (2008) model of Social Actor Representation (henceforth SAR). The study found that the representations of women are driven by certain gender ideologies which in turn reflect the author's perspective and beliefs concerning women and women related issues. |
