Zusammenfassung: | The Present study aims at shedding the light on William Shakespeare's play Othello, which is considered as one of his most well-known tragedies. The study is divided into two sections; the first one is an introduction that includes three sub-sections concerned with the analysis of the play as a picture reflecting the psychological problems of its protagonist and as a tragedy of a human who fails to understands the importance of love in his life and being unable to recognize his real enemy. The second section, however, concentrates on the play's position among other works of Shakespeare throughout analyzing the antagonist's role in the downfall of the protagonist. |
