Mixing enhancement of low pressure supersonic F + H2 streams by means of fluid injection

Zusammenfassung: | A device is described which enhances the mixing between two supersonic streams at low pressure by the introduction of three-dimensional disturbances. Small amounts of inert gas are injected through eight 0.009 in. diameter orifices equally spaced at 0.020 in. on alternate sides of a tube. such that the gas is directed at 90 deg to the main streams. The enhancement of mixing was found to increase monotonically with injection rate at 13 and 2 torr. The maximum enhancement achieved was a factor of 2 at a downstream distance of 10 cm for HF combustion. |
