Zusammenfassung:Thompson and Lotz provide insight into the relationship between the structure of the recirculating flow in the vicinity of the blunt trailing edge and the drag reduction measured for divergent-trailing-edge (DTE) airfoils. DTE modification effects an increase in the streamwise length of the recirculation region downstream of a blunt trailing edge that acts like a chordwise extension to increase circulation.
