| Zusammenfassung: | This book is the product of an open call by Metalibro made in 2022, which aimed to give an account of the current panorama of contemporary Chilean photography made by women. This is a photobook that brings together works by a selection of 20 women photographers as a restorative exercise, that is its leitmotiv as a compilation. However, we can read the visual discourse that is presented to us by interpreting its meanings in multiple layers. Thus, there is a visual narrative as a discourse of the diffuse collective subject that women are, and it is what we can read in the concatenation between the images, their jumps and accents. The metaphors of inhabiting the transit are revealed in the images from the beginning in the manner of a journey, but also as the mutation of being. But what journey are we talking about here? It is the journey towards a desired future, an imagined future, and as such open, without clear definitions, in an uncomfortable present of transition. |
