A catalogue of the genuine and entire collection of Mr. William Powell, late of the borough of Southwark, deceased Consisting of books, prints, books of prints, mauscrpts, several curious Roman missals, on vellum, finely illuminated; and also, all his coins and medals, microscopes, &c. &c. &c. Which will be sold by auction, by Whiston Bristow, at St. Paul's Coffee-House, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the 8th, 9th, and 10th of March, 1762. The books will be sold on Monday and Tuesday evenings, beginning exactly at six o'clock. The medals, coins, manuscripts, prints, &c. will be sold on Wednesday noon, beginning preceisely at twelve. A catalogue of a valuable and curious collection of Greek and Roman, gold and silver consular and imperial medals, in the highest preservation Also a serie of British, Saxon, and English coins, some curious pastes, antique gold rings, an ancient chalice or cup, in the form of an owl, found in digging near Canterbury Cathedral, a neat medal cabinet the drawers concealed; Which will be sold by auctioin, by W. A catalogue of a most valuable and curious collection of Greek and Roman gold and silver medals, lately purchased abroad by Dr. Giraldi Among many others equally rare, are the twelve cs̆ars in gold and silver, in the highest preservation. With variety of scarce medals, many of which are not to be met with in the most curious cabinets; and is presumed to be the choicest collection which has been exhibited to public sale this Kingdom, since that of the celebrated Dr. Mead. Also three very numerous series of samples of antique marbles finely polished; with a copious, accurate, and explanatory MS. Catalogue; a very fine cameo; and some onyxes set in rings: Which will be sold by auction by W. Bristow, the corner of Little Suffolk-Street, in Great Suffolk-Street, Charing-Cross, on Monday May the 18th, 1767, and the four following days, beginning precisely at twelve.
