In addition to organizing exhibitions of local artists and other educational-cultural activities, the collection of Visual Arts was created with the donation of artworks by the artists or their relatives. This valuable heritage brings together works that cover a long period of time, from approximately 1840 to the present. It has two portraits of the draftsman and painter of Tucumán Ignacio Baz, an artist who deployed an important activity between 1840 and 1887, who together with Gabino Castro, are considered the initiators of the pictorial production in Tucuman
