Elena Casoli plays Steve Reich's Electric Counterpoint, for electric guitar and tape, Michele Tadini's Scenario, for electric guitar and electronics and Maurizio Pisati's SpiegelKontaktFabrik, for electric guitar and audio track. These three pieces composed by contemporary composers explore the complexity that emerges from new ways of engaging with music. Electronics, tapes or audio tracks dialogue with the performer, making altogether a duet made up of Elena Casoli and the machine. A continuous interaction with some pre-recorded materials, metal sounds or sampled tracks compels the performer to transform sometimes her guitar into a percussion instrument and to let herself go with the logic of the pieces |
