520 3 |a 'Fetch Your Flowers (And Turn Them Into a Sword)' is a generous introduction into the wondrous world of Rebecka Tollens. Working exclusively with charcoal on paper, the book is a summery of her work since 2014. Rooted in folklore and dreams, Tollens' drawings explore the known and unknown. Like a time traveller she moves on through different realities, often using stark juxtapostions of shadow and light and weaving biographical and mythological narratives. There's a fissure between the real and the magical and it is from this liminal space that she works. Rebecka Tollens is a French-Swedish artist. Born in Stockholm 1990, she later studied at LISAA (Paris) and École de Condé (Paris) where she completed her Masters of Fine Art in 2015. Her work has been exhibited at Galerie Arts Factory, Paris, as well as numerous galleries and institutions in France, Stockholm and Brussels. Her first major solo show, 'The Last Wedding', was held at Galerie Arts Factory in 2020. Rebecka is based in Stockholm since 2018
