Offering an in-depth critical reappraisal of ancient Macedonian studies, this book provides up-to-date answers to questions concerning both the foundation and expansion of the Macedonian kingdom, as well as the origin, language(s). customs, and institutions of its inhabitants. Further more, it presents new insights into the relationship between Philip 11 and Alexander the Great.
