In 2016, Dr. Laura Castañeda García began an investigation based on the impressions of the teacher Garduño protected in the collections of the Academy of San Carlos, while Dr. Daniel Escorza Rodríguez found in the vaults of the National Library of the INAH some press records of the photographer that date from 1911 to 1915. The edition includes the photographic trajectory of the photographer, divided into five phases that show his dexterity behind the lens. The first stage is described as a student at the San Carlos Academy during his time at the painting studio of Antonio Febrés, who revolutionized the teaching of art in Mexico by introducing nude and photography into his classes, creating a unique cultural environment where Garduño participated next to his companions Jose Clemente Orozco, Diego Creek, Saturnino Herrán, Roberto Montenegro and Francisco Goitia, among others famous names of that time
