| Zusammenfassung: | This collection comprises surveys on current algebra and anomalies. The first two articles, by Treiman and Jackiw, were lectures delivered at the 1970 Brookhaven Summer School; the next two, by Jackiw and Zumino, were lectures at the 1983 Les Houches Summer School; and the remainder consists of research papers by Bardeen and Zumino, by Witten as well as by Alvarez-Gaumé and Witten. The 1970 articles emphasize the perturbative calculations which form the basis of the subject, while the two articles from 1983 trace subsequent developments, with particular attention to topological and cohomological properties of gauge fields. Finally, in the research articles, further topological results are presented and ideas developed in connection with chiral anomalies are applied to the older subject of current algebra and to gravity theory, indicating a new direction for further investigation |
