Mineralogy and diagenesis of the Pennsylvanian Browning Sandstone on the Western Shelf of the Illinois Basin
The clay minerals, mica and feldspars of Pennsylvanian (Desmoinesian) Browning Sandstone indicate that diagenetic processes have been operating at less intensity but for a longer time period at significantly lower temperatures throughout the Illinois Basin.
