FOREST PLANTATION PROTECTION
AGAINST DISEASES AND INSECT PESTS
In response to numerous requests, FAO is initiating a
series of studies on the various phases of forest planting
Expert consultants have been engaged to prepare these
studies, which will include such subjects as choice of
species and sites; seed collection, treatment, and shipment;
nursery, planting, and direct seeding techniques for
various regions When the series has been completed, it
may be possible to assemble the several studies in a revised
form in a “ World Forest Planting Manual
The present volume, the first in the series, has been
prepared by J S Boyce, Professor of Forest Pathology,
Yale University
